4. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All thought data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your thoughts unless you enable iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync (Premium Feature)

  • Optional feature for premium users
  • Stores encrypted data in your personal iCloud account
  • End-to-end encryption via Apple's CloudKit
  • We cannot access your iCloud data

Beta Signup Data

  • Emails collected via beta signup form are stored securely via Formspark
  • Access restricted to authorized team members only
  • Used solely for TestFlight invitations and beta communications

Security Measures

  • HTTPS encryption for all web traffic
  • Secure form submission via Formspark
  • Regular security audits
  • No plaintext storage of sensitive data

5. Data Retention

Thought Data

Stored on your device indefinitely until you delete it. You can delete all data at any time via Settings → Delete All Data.

Beta Signup Emails

Retained until beta program ends or you request deletion. You can request deletion by emailing support@statuteapp.org.

Analytics Data

Anonymized analytics retained for up to 24 months. Cannot be traced back to individual users.

You have the right to:

  • Access your data (email us to request your beta signup data)
  • Delete your data (use in-app deletion or email us)
  • Opt out of analytics (via iOS Settings → Privacy)
  • Withdraw consent for email communications (unsubscribe link in emails)

Statute is operated from the United States. If you are accessing our services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.
